Pollyanna Buff serves as the Program Director of Safety Town for SC Career Kids, leading the growth and implementation of the organization’s signature early childhood safety education program across South Carolina.A retired teacher, Pollyanna brings years of classroom experience, child development expertise, and a deep understanding of how young children learn best. Her educational background ensures that Safety Town programming is developmentally appropriate, highly engaging, and meaningful for PreK through 2nd grade students.Under her leadership, Safety Town has expanded statewide through in school field trips and summer camps, reaching students across diverse communities. Pollyanna coordinates safety experts, community partners, and teaching staff to create immersive experiences where children learn essential life saving skills through purposeful play.Safety Town not only teaches pedestrian safety, fire prevention, water safety, stranger awareness, bike safety, and emergency response, but also introduces students to community helper careers. Through conversations with law enforcement officers, firefighters, healthcare professionals, transportation officials, and other trusted helpers, students begin building early awareness of how these important roles serve their communities.Pollyanna is passionate about growing the workforce from the ground up by combining safety education with early career exposure. By blending hands on learning, real world interaction, and intentional dialogue about community helper jobs, Safety Town builds confidence, awareness, and a foundation for future dreams.
