About me
Martin Cwiakala was an engineering educator at the Center for Advanced Technical Studies in Lexington-Richland School District Five in South Carolina, where he taught aerospace engineering and Project Lead The Way courses. With more than two decades of experience in engineering education, he has worked extensively with student teams in design competitions, rocketry, robotics, and applied engineering projects that connect classroom learning to real-world challenges. Martin is the Innovation Director of CSC: Community STEAM Collaborative, a nonprofit organization focused on developing multidisciplinary projects that connect schools, communities, and industry partners. One of CSC’s initiatives, the Telepresence Amusement Park, invites students to design model amusement park rides equipped with wireless cameras that stream to head-mounted displays, allowing residents of retirement communities, including those with limited mobility, to experience immersive ride simulations. He frequently presents on experiential engineering education, community partnerships, and innovative approaches to STEAM learning that build both technical and professional skills in students.
