About me
Dr. Alan E. Gray serves as the Director of the Strom Thurmond Career and Technology Center, bringing over 40 years of educational excellence to the 2026 SC Palmetto Education Summit. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Gray holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from West Virginia State University, Master’s from Troy University, and both a Specialist and Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. His extensive educational career includes over 18 years as a classroom teacher, and 21 years in administration. As an educational leader, he has served as an Assistant Principal, Alternative School Principal, and Comprehensive High School Principal. Driven by a "constitution for life" rooted in the manifestation of greatness, Dr. Gray is a visionary leader who tirelessly challenges the status quo to empower students to dream without limits. He and his wife, Annie, are the proud parents of four amazing children: Marlo, Allisha, Alan Jr., and Ashley.
