About me
Dr. Christie Palladino discovered her passion for teaching through her career as an obstetrician-gynecologist and health science education researcher. She teaches biomedical science at the Aiken County Career and Technology Center (ACCTC). Palladino is a native of Williston, South Carolina. She has a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Davidson College and completed her Doctor of Medicine degree at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Palladino completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Florida and a fellowship in the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program at the University of Michigan, where she earned a master’s degree in Health and Healthcare Research. Dr. Palladino served as Educational Researcher and Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. In 2014, she pursued teaching as a full-time career. She completed the South Carolina Program of Alternative Certification for Educators and is in her twelfth year of teaching high school science. Dr. Palladino has led the biomedical science program at ACCTC since 2021. In 2023, she created the ACCTC Biommersive Capstone Program, approved by the State Department of Education as an innovative course. Dr. Palladino has over 100 peer-reviewed presentations and publications, over half of which are co-authored with mentees. In 2022, her students received 2nd place in education research from the National Association of Biology Teachers. Dr. Palladino has served thousands of K-12 students with the ACCTC Biomedical Science Outreach Team. She is the 2025-2026 Aiken County Teacher of the Year and the 2027 South Carolina State Teacher of the Year.
