About me
Charlene Gleaton has devoted twenty-eight years to public education in South Carolina and Alabama. Twenty years were invested teaching grades one through three, serving as a literacy and math interventionist, and supporting teachers as a literacy coach at the school and district levels. The following eight years at the South Carolina Department of Education included serving five years as a Read to Succeed Literacy Specialist and she currently serves as the Team Lead for Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). Charlene simultaneously writes and facilitates professional development courses for educators through VirtualSC PD in partnership with the College of Charleston. While these roles span from teaching children to adults, all focus on preparing students for academic growth and personal success.
