About me
Andrew Shipman is an experienced educational leader currently serving as the Principal of Crosswell Elementary School. He is passionate about improving student outcomes through data-driven instruction, strategic program development,with a focus on supporting the whole child.
Since becoming principal in 2023, Principal Shipman has led the implementation of a comprehensive Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and guided the transformation into a Leader in Me school. Through this work, Crosswell Elementary has developed a culture centered on leadership, accountability, and academic excellence. Most notably, Crosswell Elementary earned recognition as a Lighthouse School, reflecting a strong commitment to leadership development and student success. These efforts have also resulted in significant academic growth, including one of the highest gains in math achievement across the district.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Shipman served as an assistant principal at both the elementary and middle school levels, where he contributed to earning national recognition for academic excellence, helped develop a STEM magnet program, and strengthened school-wide systems for instruction and behavior. He began his career as a special education teacher, where he developed and implemented individualized programs for students and collaborated with colleagues to ensure all learners were supported.
Andrew Shipman hold degrees from Clemson University, the U.S. Sports Academy, and Anderson University. He remains actively engaged in professional learning, leadership development, and community involvement, all with the goal of creating meaningful and lasting impact for students, staff, and families.
